Chris Rock makes some good points.Al-Qaeda is a "threat" blown way out of proportion by the American govt to keep the country in fear. Because fear = blind patriotism, which fuels the govt to continue its twisted policies in the Muslim World.And then people wonder why there's conflict...Al-Qaeda and every other extremist group for that matter wouldn't even have the support it has (minimal as it is) were it largely not for the attention the west has given them

Al Qaeda means "the base" and it was started by bin laden with CIA help, true but after the end of the conflict with russia bin laden went back to saudi arabia and asked the PM to make them the protectors, they instead went for american help because of an oil agreement, bin laden was pissed coz americans were on saudi soil, so he went back to al qaeda and started to carry out attacks on the west starting from embassys, culminating in an attack on US soil (9/11)
